Terms & Conditions

Effective 22 June 2026. By using Dabao you agree to these terms.

1. About Dabao

Dabao is an online platform that connects home-based food sellers ("Sellers") with buyers ("Buyers") in Singapore. Dabao provides the technology, storefront, and order management tools. Dabao does not prepare, handle, or deliver food.

The contract for the sale of food is directly between the Buyer and the Seller. Dabao is a marketplace facilitator, not a party to that contract.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Dabao. By registering or placing an order, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Sellers must hold any licences or permits required by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) for the sale of home-prepared food and are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws.

3. Pre-Order Model

All orders on Dabao are pre-orders. Buyers select a pickup date and time window when placing an order. Sellers prepare food only after an order is confirmed and payment is verified.

Dabao does not offer delivery. All orders are collected by the Buyer at the pickup location specified by the Seller, typically near an MRT station.

Sellers set their own availability, cutoff times, and order windows. Dabao is not responsible if a Seller is unavailable or cancels an order.

4. Payment

Payment is made directly from Buyer to Seller via PayNow. Dabao does not process, hold, or receive any payment on behalf of either party.

Buyers are required to provide a PayNow transaction ID or screenshot as proof of payment at checkout. Sellers verify payment independently before confirming an order.

Dabao is not liable for payment disputes, failed transfers, incorrect amounts, or fraudulent transactions. Any disputes must be resolved directly between Buyer and Seller.

Promo codes are issued by Sellers and funded by Sellers. Dabao makes no warranty that a promo code will be honoured if a Seller becomes unavailable.

5. Minimum Orders

Sellers on the Maestro plan may set a minimum order requirement, defined as either a minimum cart value (SGD) or a minimum number of items. Buyers must satisfy at least one condition to proceed to checkout.

Minimum order requirements are set at the Seller's discretion and may change at any time without notice from Dabao.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

Buyers may not cancel an order after payment has been sent. Cancellation requests must be raised directly with the Seller via WhatsApp before the Seller confirms the order.

Sellers may cancel an order if payment is not received, if the Buyer does not collect at the agreed time, or if the items are no longer available. In such cases, the Seller is responsible for refunding the Buyer directly via PayNow.

Dabao does not issue refunds. All refund arrangements are between Buyer and Seller.

7. Food Safety & Allergens

Sellers are responsible for food hygiene, safe preparation, correct labelling, and accurate allergen information. Buyers with dietary restrictions or allergies must contact the Seller directly before ordering.

Dabao does not inspect, certify, or take responsibility for the quality, safety, or suitability of any food sold through the platform.

8. Seller Accounts & Subscriptions

Sellers may access Dabao on a free Libre plan or paid Hapag (SGD $9.90/month) or Maestro (SGD $19.90/month) plans. Plan features are subject to change with reasonable notice.

Subscriptions are billed monthly. Sellers may cancel at any time; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. No pro-rata refunds are issued.

Dabao reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Seller account that violates these terms, receives sustained negative ratings, or engages in misleading or fraudulent conduct.

9. Ratings & Reviews

Buyers may leave ratings after a completed order. Ratings must be honest and based on actual experience. Dabao reserves the right to remove ratings that are abusive, fraudulent, or irrelevant.

Sellers may not offer incentives in exchange for positive ratings.

10. Intellectual Property

Sellers retain ownership of their kitchen name, photos, and menu content. By uploading content to Dabao, Sellers grant Dabao a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform and in promotional materials.

Dabao's brand, design, and software are owned by Dabao and may not be copied or used without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Dabao's liability to any user is limited to the subscription fees paid by that user in the three months preceding the claim. Dabao is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of income, data, or reputation.

Dabao does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.

12. Privacy

Dabao collects personal data (name, phone number, email) to facilitate orders and platform operation. Data is not sold to third parties. Buyers' contact details are shared with the relevant Seller solely for order fulfilment purposes.

By using Dabao, you consent to this use of your data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

13. Changes to These Terms

Dabao may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via the platform or by email. Continued use of Dabao after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from the use of Dabao shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
